I didn’t learn this work in a classroom.
I learned it by being the new girl, the outsider, the one who had to read a room before she could even speak the language in it.
By ninth grade, I'd attended nine schools across the Middle East, Europe, and Canada.
When you're the new girl nine years in a row, sometimes unable to speak the language, you learn to read people differently. You notice who gets included, who gets overlooked, and why. You start to see the subtle signals most people miss.
Looking back, I realize I was studying human perception years before I had a name for it.
My own journey
I arrived in the U.S. alone at 17, so shy I'd ask my mother to ask someone where the bathroom was rather than ask myself.
Living thousands of miles from home forced me to become self-sufficient. I even took a public speaking class, something I never imagined myself doing.
Years later, a client who was a university dean loved our work together and asked me to speak to her graduate students. I was terrified, but the moment I started, something clicked. I'd found my calling!
It’s why I believe presence can be learned. I learned it, and I’ve spent more than 30 years helping other women do the same.

What began with that first presentation became a 30-year career. I've worked one-on-one with more than 1,000 clients, coached hundreds more from the stage, and spoken for companies, professional organizations, universities, and women's groups across North America and parts of Europe.
